Άγ. Γιάννης - Άγ. Γάλας

This hiking trail links the village of Agio Galas with the settlement of Agios Giannis, which has been abandoned since around 1960. It includes important monuments of the island’s cultural heritage and natural environment.

Covering just 2.0 km, this is a gentle outing perfect for families or beginners. Allow roughly 26 minutes.

This linear trail moves from one end to the other without looping back. A return journey by transport — or retracing the path — is needed to get back to the start. Follow the Άγ. Γιάννης waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
