Borger Dalr Geology Walk, North Lakes Outdoors

Explore the origins of Borrowdale as you walk from Bowder Stone car park to Castle Crag, including the poignant war memorial Peace Howe, and amazing views of the flat valley bed that was formerly the bottom of an Ice Age lake. A steep but gradual climb.

Covering 7.4 km, this is a satisfying walk that most reasonably fit hikers will complete in about 1 hour and 38 minutes.

This loop trail is a practical choice for day hikers: you start and end at the same spot, with no shuttle or pick-up required.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
