Chiltern Escarpment and Woodland Walk, Central Chilterns

A challenging circular exploring the chalk escarpment with views of the surrounding valley. Start at Watlington Hill, head up & down the valleys navigating local woodland, farmland & picturesque villages. Spot Red Kites & the White Mark. Gates & mud.

A 24.2 km long-distance challenge suited to experienced hikers. Most complete it in around 5 hours and 22 minutes.

This is a point-to-point route, running from one location to another. Plan ahead for return transport, or consider reversing the route on your way back.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
