Erie Canalway Trail (Middleport to Albion)
The stonedust (finely-ground, compacted limestone) path is on the north side of the Erie Canal with sweeping vistas of agricultural fields and rural landscapes, and water views of boats and canal bridges and gates.
A 30.3 km long-distance challenge suited to experienced hikers. Most complete it in around 6 hours and 44 minutes.
This is a point-to-point route, running from one location to another. Plan ahead for return transport, or consider reversing the route on your way back. Look for the ECT trail markings to stay on the official route.
Part of the Local Walking Network (LWN), this trail is ideal for exploring the neighbourhood landscape. It is typically well-known to local walkers and offers an authentic sense of place.
