Not far from the busy slopes of Scafell Pike, discover the quieter side of the Western Fells on this circular above Wastwater. There's a hidden mountain tarn, views over the Wasdale Screes & if visibility is good, the Isle of Man.

Covering 6.0 km, this is a satisfying walk that most reasonably fit hikers will complete in about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

This linear trail moves from one end to the other without looping back. A return journey by transport — or retracing the path — is needed to get back to the start.

This is a Local Walking Network (LWN) trail — a community-level route perfect for exploring the immediate surroundings, popular with locals and visitors alike.
