Hudson Valley Greenway Trail (Elmsford to New Castle)

This section runs north from Elmsford along the Westchester North County Trail: it is quiet and parklike, buffered from adjacent development by dense woods. No services on the trail: local businesses can be accessed through short detours off the route.

At 15.7 km, this is a solid full-day hike. At an average walking pace you can expect to complete the route in roughly 3 hours and 29 minutes.

As a linear trail, this route has distinct start and end points. Return transport is worth arranging in advance unless you plan to walk back the same way. Follow the HVGT waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.
