Der Kaiserweg ist ein frühzeitlicher Handelsweg von Goslar über Bad Harzburg, Walkenried nach Tilleda. Er ist benannt nach der Flucht Kaiser Heinrich IV. von seiner Harzburg in den Schutz der südharzer Klöster und nach Tilleda im Jahre 1074.

Covering 111.7 km, this is a true long-distance trail best approached as a multi-day journey through varied terrain.

This linear trail moves from one end to the other without looping back. A return journey by transport — or retracing the path — is needed to get back to the start. Follow the KW waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

This trail forms part of the Regional Walking Network (RWN), linking local communities and natural features across the region. Waymarking is managed at the regional level.
