Lavenham to Long Melford Railway Walk, Lavenham Guildhall

Dasy walk from Lavenham to Long Melford, through woods and open fields, following the route of the old Great Eastern Railway line. You can return to Lavenham by bus, or re-trace your steps if you are able. Can be muddy and waterlogged through SSSI.

Covering 7.7 km, this is a satisfying walk that most reasonably fit hikers will complete in about 1 hour and 43 minutes.

This linear trail moves from one end to the other without looping back. A return journey by transport — or retracing the path — is needed to get back to the start.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
