Lorain/Stonycreek Hiking Trails

The Historic Trail, was originally built in 1982. This trail had been left unmaintained for many years and we decided to recreate the trail and blazed it with orange circles with a historic name plate nailed into the trees.

At 6.8 km, this is a comfortable half-day walk for most hikers. At an average walking pace, plan for roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The route forms a complete loop, returning you to where you started. This makes logistics simple and the outing entirely self-contained.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
