Meteora Trail M13 - Varlaam Monastery – Kastraki Old Aqueduct Trail

This route takes hikers from the Monastery of Varlaam towards the settlement of Kastraki, through the old cobblestone trail that once supplied this monastery as well as that of Megalo Meteoro.

A compact 1.4 km route ideal for a relaxed morning out. At an easy pace, plan for about 19 minutes.

This route forms a near-complete loop: the start and finish are very close together, so only minimal transport is needed to get back. It combines the convenience of a circular walk with a slightly varied return. Look for the M13 trail markings to stay on the official route.

Part of the Local Walking Network (LWN), this trail is ideal for exploring the neighbourhood landscape. It is typically well-known to local walkers and offers an authentic sense of place.
