Wray to Blelham Tarn Circular Walk, Wray Castle

Start from Wray Castle, taking in Blelham Tarn & return via Windermere shoreline. From the Ice Age to Iron Age, medieval monks to Victorians, this walk combines tranquil beauty, views & stories from the past. Low-lying areas are boggy in wet weather.

At 6.0 km, this is a comfortable half-day walk for most hikers. At an average walking pace, plan for roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Almost circular, this trail brings you back very close to your starting point. A short transfer or brief walk connects the finish to the trailhead.
