Alcock Tarn Walk, Grasmere Great Langdale
Starting in the lakeside village of Grasmere, this circular climbs to a small tarn, a beautiful place to have lunch. Winding through trees to views of the valley, lakes & surrounding fells, take in history from miners & coffin-bearers. Steep in places.
Covering 5.4 km, this is a satisfying walk that most reasonably fit hikers will complete in about 1 hour and 13 minutes.
This loop trail is a practical choice for day hikers: you start and end at the same spot, with no shuttle or pick-up required.
