Apollo Trail 4 - The Sacred Trail

This route takes hikers from Abeliona to the top of Lykaion mountain where the ruins of the Temple of Zeus and a chapel of Profitis Ilias is located.

At 6.8 km, this is a comfortable half-day walk for most hikers. At an average walking pace, plan for roughly 1 hour and 31 minutes.

As a linear trail, this route has distinct start and end points. Return transport is worth arranging in advance unless you plan to walk back the same way. Follow the 4 waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
