Hamilton Peak Trail #109

The Hamilton Butte Lookout was built in 1929. The lookout was abandoned in the 1960s. Look for sections of phone line left along this trail. This historic phone line linked the lookout with the world below.

This 1.5 km walk is easy-going and within reach of all fitness levels. Most walkers finish in around 20 minutes.

Point-to-point in layout, this trail takes you from A to B across the landscape. Consider your return logistics before heading out. Follow the 118 waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
