Hike southwest along the Historic Turnpike, past the remains of Shaker grist and linseed oil mills. Cross Kissing Bridge and observe the remains of the dam once used to provide water for the mills downstream.
At 1.9 km, this is a short, accessible outing suitable for most fitness levels. Expect to complete it in around 25 minutes at a comfortable pace.
The route forms a complete loop, returning you to where you started. This makes logistics simple and the outing entirely self-contained.
Part of the Local Walking Network (LWN), this trail is ideal for exploring the neighbourhood landscape. It is typically well-known to local walkers and offers an authentic sense of place.
