This favourite walk of National Trust rangers will take you to a Borrowdale gem, the hamlet of Watendlath. Along the way, you'll discover oak woodland, two tarns (mountain ponds) and stunning Lakeland views.

Covering 8.1 km, this is a satisfying walk that most reasonably fit hikers will complete in about 1 hour and 48 minutes.

This loop trail is a practical choice for day hikers: you start and end at the same spot, with no shuttle or pick-up required.
