Selborne Common and The Lythe Butterfly Walk, Selborne

Visitors can encounter a huge number of butterfly species including silver-washed fritillary, white admirals & purple & brown hairstreak. On The Lythe part of the trail discover a variety of butterflies, birds and meadow flowers. Steep & seasonally muddy.

Covering 6.5 km, this is a satisfying walk that most reasonably fit hikers will complete in about 1 hour and 27 minutes.

With start and finish just a short distance apart, this near-loop trail offers most of the convenience of a circular route with a subtly different final stretch.
