Stickle Tarn Trail, Grasmere Great Langdale
This out & back path follows the Stickle Ghyll stream up to Stickle Tarn, with views across Great Langdale. Take a breather to wonder at dramatic waterfalls & rock pools cut into the mountainside. Steep, well-defined stone path with short, easy scrambles.
A compact 3.6 km route ideal for a relaxed morning out. At an easy pace, plan for about 47 minutes.
This is a circular route that brings you back to your exact starting point — ideal for a self-contained day out without having to organise return transport.
As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
