Walk along the valley floor before climbing up and out onto farmland to the Battle Hill summit. On a fine day you will have wonderful views south down the Horokiri Valley towards Pauatahanui inlet. Information panels tell the story of these historic sites

This is a circular route that brings you back to your exact starting point — ideal for a self-contained day out without having to organise return transport. Follow the Summt waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

This trail forms part of the Regional Walking Network (RWN), linking local communities and natural features across the region. Waymarking is managed at the regional level.
