A52 - Mergozzo - Bracchio - Vercio - Monte Faiè

From Mergozzo lake to Monte Faiè the initial chestnut trees give way up to the beech trees while you gain altitude on the ancient cobbled mule track to the Vercio Hermitage and then on to the ridge with breathtaking views of the Gulf Borromeo and Stresa

Covering 6.5 km, this is a satisfying walk that most reasonably fit hikers will complete in about 1 hour and 27 minutes.

This linear trail moves from one end to the other without looping back. A return journey by transport — or retracing the path — is needed to get back to the start. Follow the A52 waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
