A56a - Stazione FS Verbania - Bivio A56 presso Montorfano paese

Short route on a paved road to reach the small and characteristic village of Montorfano from which to continue along the paths of Monte Orfano or to reach Mergozzo on the lake of the same name following the Sentiero Azzurro.

This 1.1 km walk is easy-going and within reach of all fitness levels. Most walkers finish in around 15 minutes.

Point-to-point in layout, this trail takes you from A to B across the landscape. Consider your return logistics before heading out. Follow the A56A waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
