Champlain Valley Trail (Comstock to Whitehall)

This section has varied conditions, traveling mostly on the shoulders of local roads. A three-quarter-mile paved trail connects South and North Quarry Roads slightly south of Comstock – this is an excellent place for a quiet, scenic walk in deep woods.

Covering 10.7 km, this is a substantial hike requiring a reasonable base fitness. Most walkers complete it in about 2 hours and 22 minutes.

This linear trail moves from one end to the other without looping back. A return journey by transport — or retracing the path — is needed to get back to the start. Follow the CVT waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.
