This loop trail begins and ends at the end of Ponder Creek Road. The trail crosses several stream fords and parallels a portion of scenic Chickamauga Creek. Caution: A por- tion of the trail crosses a road (Forest Service Road 250).
Covering 10.0 km, this is a satisfying walk that most reasonably fit hikers will complete in about 2 hours and 13 minutes.
With start and finish just a short distance apart, this near-loop trail offers most of the convenience of a circular route with a subtly different final stretch. Follow the CCT waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.
