F16 - San Domenico - Monte Cistella

Long but rewarding climb. From the summit of Monte Cistella the view is spectacular at 360 °. Suitable for normal hikers except for a short final stretch under the summit which requires a short climb, there is a chain (2022).

At 8.4 km, this is a comfortable half-day walk for most hikers. At an average walking pace, plan for roughly 1 hour and 52 minutes.

As a linear trail, this route has distinct start and end points. Return transport is worth arranging in advance unless you plan to walk back the same way. The trail is officially waymarked as F16, so look out for the trail markers along the way.
