Hudson Valley Greenway Trail (The Battery, NYC to Inwood)

The start/end of the Empire State Trail running north on the Manhattan Greenway trail. This is a paved, off-road trail through Battery Park City, Hudson River Park, and Riverside Park and provides stunning views of Manhattan and the Hudson River.

At 21.8 km, this is a challenging full-day or multi-stage hike. At an average pace, the route takes roughly 4 hours and 51 minutes to complete.

As a linear trail, this route has distinct start and end points. Return transport is worth arranging in advance unless you plan to walk back the same way. Look for the HVGT trail markings to stay on the official route.
