Mickleden Valley Trail, Grasmere Great Langdale

Walk into the wilds of Mickleden, a Langdale valley where clues to Neolithic and Norse settlers lie beneath pikes & crags. This easy out & back route follows the bridleway along the valley floor, on a section of the Cumbria Way. Stoney in places.

This 6.4 km route sits in the sweet spot for a half-day outing — long enough to feel rewarding, short enough to leave the afternoon free. Expect around 1 hour and 25 minutes.
