Skell Valley Explorer, Fountains Abbey

Enjoy a countryside walk around Grantley & Sawley featuring Spa Gill Woods & Eavestone Lake. This walk can be split into two shorter loops; the longer High Grantley loop & the shorter Sawley loop. Please be aware that there may be livestock in fields.

A 15.6 km full-day trail that rewards walkers with a proper day out. Budget roughly 3 hours and 28 minutes at a steady pace.

This is a point-to-point route, running from one location to another. Plan ahead for return transport, or consider reversing the route on your way back.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
