There are no facilities of any type at the Kurua-Retaruke Rd end of this track. Trampers need to be totally independent and make their own pre-arrangements for food, shelter or pick-ups.

A 93.0 km long-distance route for dedicated hikers. Total walking time is approximately 20 hours and 40 minutes.

This is a point-to-point route, running from one location to another. Plan ahead for return transport, or consider reversing the route on your way back. The trail is officially waymarked as TA04e, so look out for the trail markers along the way.

This is a Local Walking Network (LWN) trail — a community-level route perfect for exploring the immediate surroundings, popular with locals and visitors alike.
