This 16-mile challenging circular drops down & along the Chilterns Escarpment & climbs back into the hills. Visit pretty hamlets & the Stonor & Wormsley estates. Enjoy much remote, unspoiled countryside &woodland. Steep gradients, several stiles.

Covering 17.4 km, this is a substantial hike requiring a reasonable base fitness. Most walkers complete it in about 3 hours and 52 minutes.

This linear trail moves from one end to the other without looping back. A return journey by transport — or retracing the path — is needed to get back to the start.

Part of the Local Walking Network (LWN), this trail is ideal for exploring the neighbourhood landscape. It is typically well-known to local walkers and offers an authentic sense of place.
