A long walk in the woods and the hills between Lake Maggiore and Mergozzo on the historic Roman road that led to the Ossola and the Simplon Pass

This 10.1 km route makes for a full-day commitment — bring sufficient food and water. Plan for around 2 hours and 15 minutes on the trail.

Point-to-point in layout, this trail takes you from A to B across the landscape. Consider your return logistics before heading out. Follow the A003 waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
