From just below the Mt Cavendish Gondola upper station to the seaside suburb Sumner. Evans Pass and the Godley Head carpark split the trail into approximate thirds, if you want to break a bit off the leg to make it easier to complete in a day.

This 17.6 km route makes for a full-day commitment — bring sufficient food and water. Plan for around 3 hours and 55 minutes on the trail.
