Hudson Valley Greenway Trail (Mahopac to Brewster)

This route begins in Mahopac and follows the Putnam Trailway north winding through wooded areas, past scenic lakes, and through small communities. There are no services on the trail: local businesses can be accessed short distances off the route.

Covering 13.4 km, this is a substantial hike requiring a reasonable base fitness. Most walkers complete it in about 2 hours and 59 minutes.

This linear trail moves from one end to the other without looping back. A return journey by transport — or retracing the path — is needed to get back to the start. The trail is officially waymarked as HVGT, so look out for the trail markers along the way.
