Kythnos Trail 01

Easy route with clear and visible paths. It starts from Chora and reaches the Castle of Oria, which has great views with steep cliffs, and was the medieval capital of the island. Route 1 is unmarked.

This 6.8 km route sits in the sweet spot for a half-day outing — long enough to feel rewarding, short enough to leave the afternoon free. Expect around 1 hour and 31 minutes.

Point-to-point in layout, this trail takes you from A to B across the landscape. Consider your return logistics before heading out. Follow the Trail 01 waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
