Sam's River Loop Trail
Sam's River Loop is a level day hike through different ages and stages of temperate rain forest, but winter storms often damage this trail, so you may have to scramble over fallen trees and other obstacles!
Covering just 4.6 km, this is a gentle outing perfect for families or beginners. Allow roughly 1 hour and 2 minutes.
With start and finish just a short distance apart, this near-loop trail offers most of the convenience of a circular route with a subtly different final stretch. The trail is officially waymarked as SRL, so look out for the trail markers along the way.
This is a Local Walking Network (LWN) trail — a community-level route perfect for exploring the immediate surroundings, popular with locals and visitors alike.
