Selborne Common and The Lythe Butterfly Walk, Selborne

Visitors can encounter a huge number of butterfly species including silver-washed fritillary, white admirals & purple & brown hairstreak. On The Lythe part of the trail discover a variety of butterflies, birds and meadow flowers. Steep & seasonally muddy.

This 6.5 km route sits in the sweet spot for a half-day outing — long enough to feel rewarding, short enough to leave the afternoon free. Expect around 1 hour and 27 minutes.

The route nearly completes a loop, with start and end points within easy walking distance of each other. Minimal logistics required.
