Te Araroa - 02 Auckland - n Totara Park, Wairere Road, Manurewa to Bombay

Mainly urban roads to beyond Papakura. After than mainly open country with a hill to climb. This route follows the maps issued November 2018. An earlier route through the Hunua Ranges is now avoided as a result of Kauri die-back disease.

A 25.3 km long-distance challenge suited to experienced hikers. Most complete it in around 5 hours and 37 minutes.

This is a circular route that brings you back to your exact starting point — ideal for a self-contained day out without having to organise return transport. The trail is officially waymarked as TA02n, so look out for the trail markers along the way.

This is a Local Walking Network (LWN) trail — a community-level route perfect for exploring the immediate surroundings, popular with locals and visitors alike.
