The Lichway

Also known as the 'Way of the Dead' as a route for carrying coffins to the graveyard at Lydford Church

A 19.7 km full-day trail that rewards walkers with a proper day out. Budget roughly 4 hours and 22 minutes at a steady pace.

This route forms a near-complete loop: the start and finish are very close together, so only minimal transport is needed to get back. It combines the convenience of a circular walk with a slightly varied return. Follow the LYW waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
