Whithorn Way (alternative to east of Troon)

This alternative route bypasses Troon township. It passes between Troon Darley and Troon Fullarton golf courses to the left (east) and a railway siding and houses to the right (west)

Covering just 3.4 km, this is a gentle outing perfect for families or beginners. Allow roughly 45 minutes.

This linear trail moves from one end to the other without looping back. A return journey by transport — or retracing the path — is needed to get back to the start. Look for the WW trail markings to stay on the official route.

Part of the Local Walking Network (LWN), this trail is ideal for exploring the neighbourhood landscape. It is typically well-known to local walkers and offers an authentic sense of place.
