A52 - Mergozzo - Bracchio - Vercio - Monte Faiè

From Mergozzo lake to Monte Faiè the initial chestnut trees give way up to the beech trees while you gain altitude on the ancient cobbled mule track to the Vercio Hermitage and then on to the ridge with breathtaking views of the Gulf Borromeo and Stresa

At 6.5 km, this is a comfortable half-day walk for most hikers. At an average walking pace, plan for roughly 1 hour and 27 minutes.

As a linear trail, this route has distinct start and end points. Return transport is worth arranging in advance unless you plan to walk back the same way. Follow the A52 waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
