Lady Anne's Way

The route was inspired by the indomitable Lady Anne Clifford, who owned vast estates in the old county of Westmorland during the seventeenth century. The route is in the area she traveled and highlights a several castles she renovated.

At 155.4 km, this is a demanding long-distance hike that may be split across multiple days. Experienced hikers typically take around 34 hours and 32 minutes to complete it end-to-end.

As a linear trail, this route has distinct start and end points. Return transport is worth arranging in advance unless you plan to walk back the same way.

This trail forms part of the Regional Walking Network (RWN), linking local communities and natural features across the region. Waymarking is managed at the regional level.
