Champlain Valley Trail (Schuylerville to Fort Miller)
This section is a mix of stone dust path (on the towpath of the 19th century Champlain Canal) and the iconic Dix Bridge over the Hudson River. From there the route is on local roads passing by woods, farmlands, river views and the active Champlain Canal.
This 10.9 km route makes for a full-day commitment — bring sufficient food and water. Plan for around 2 hours and 25 minutes on the trail.
Point-to-point in layout, this trail takes you from A to B across the landscape. Consider your return logistics before heading out. Look for the CVT trail markings to stay on the official route.
