Champlain Valley Trail (Schuylerville to Fort Miller)
This section is a mix of stone dust path (on the towpath of the 19th century Champlain Canal) and the iconic Dix Bridge over the Hudson River. From there the route is on local roads passing by woods, farmlands, river views and the active Champlain Canal.
A 10.9 km full-day trail that rewards walkers with a proper day out. Budget roughly 2 hours and 25 minutes at a steady pace.
This is a point-to-point route, running from one location to another. Plan ahead for return transport, or consider reversing the route on your way back. Follow the CVT waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.
