Te Araroa - 03 Waikato - c Huntly to Ngaruawahia

The Hakarimata Track is steep, hilly and arduous but the bush and views are worth it.

A 17.2 km full-day trail that rewards walkers with a proper day out. Budget roughly 3 hours and 49 minutes at a steady pace.

This is a point-to-point route, running from one location to another. Plan ahead for return transport, or consider reversing the route on your way back. Follow the TA03c waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.

As a Local Walking Network (LWN) route, this trail has a strong community character. It serves both regular local walkers and visitors discovering the area for the first time.
