Te Araroa - 03 Waikato - d Ngaruawahia to Pukete Road, Hamilton
Ngaruawahia is the home of the Maori King and the magnificent Turangawaewae Marae. At Ngaruawahia two great rivers merge - Waikato and Waipa. These were important canoe routes and later served settlers.
At 11.9 km, this is a solid full-day hike. At an average walking pace you can expect to complete the route in roughly 2 hours and 39 minutes.
As a linear trail, this route has distinct start and end points. Return transport is worth arranging in advance unless you plan to walk back the same way. Look for the TA03d trail markings to stay on the official route.
