Blue Lake Butte Trail #119
This trail climbs steadily from Forest Road 78 for 1 mile to a semi-open ridgetop where Mt. Adams and Hamilton Buttes can be seen. The trail continues to the junction with the more heavily used Blue Lake Ridge Trail #271 near Blue Lake.
Covering 6.0 km, this is a satisfying walk that most reasonably fit hikers will complete in about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
This linear trail moves from one end to the other without looping back. A return journey by transport — or retracing the path — is needed to get back to the start. Look for the 119 trail markings to stay on the official route.
A Regional Walking Network (RWN) route, this trail weaves through the regional landscape connecting villages, viewpoints, and countryside.
