Blue Lake Butte Trail #119
This trail climbs steadily from Forest Road 78 for 1 mile to a semi-open ridgetop where Mt. Adams and Hamilton Buttes can be seen. The trail continues to the junction with the more heavily used Blue Lake Ridge Trail #271 near Blue Lake.
This 6.0 km route sits in the sweet spot for a half-day outing — long enough to feel rewarding, short enough to leave the afternoon free. Expect around 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Point-to-point in layout, this trail takes you from A to B across the landscape. Consider your return logistics before heading out. Follow the 119 waymarkers throughout to stay on the official trail line.
