Beacon Way
Starting at Sandwell Valley via the outskirts of Birmingham and the countryside of Walsall into Staffordshire. Take in the Forest of Mercia, lakes, nature reserves, woods, and canal banks. Named after Barr Beacon, one of the highest hills in this area.
This 37.4 km route is a major undertaking — excellent fitness, reliable navigation, and multi-day planning are required. End-to-end time is roughly 8 hours and 19 minutes.
Laid out as a circular walk, this trail finishes exactly where it begins — no need to arrange transport back or retrace your steps.
This trail forms part of the Regional Walking Network (RWN), linking local communities and natural features across the region. Waymarking is managed at the regional level.
