Beacon Way
Starting at Sandwell Valley via the outskirts of Birmingham and the countryside of Walsall into Staffordshire. Take in the Forest of Mercia, lakes, nature reserves, woods, and canal banks. Named after Barr Beacon, one of the highest hills in this area.
Covering 31.8 km, this demanding trail is best tackled by experienced walkers in good condition. Budget roughly 7 hours and 4 minutes or consider splitting it across two days.
This loop trail is a practical choice for day hikers: you start and end at the same spot, with no shuttle or pick-up required.
